Operative instrumentation

The license in this discipline allows the exercise of the profession of superior technician in operating instrumentation. This professional ensures the smooth running of the surgical procedure in compliance with the rules of hygiene and safety. His activities and technical gestures are divided into three essential tasks: groomer, instrumentalist and operating aid. In addition to gestural skills, the operating scrub nurse must welcome, inform and ensure patient comfort. Its work begins before surgery and continues in its aftermath with surveillance measures. In addition to his activities, the operating room scrub nurse often performs training tasks. He can work in the operating theaters of public or private health structures, in sterilization, in the central hospital hygiene structures, in departments carrying out invasive acts for therapeutic and / or diagnostic purposes. University training in operative instrumentation lasts 3 years leading to the applied license in this discipline. It opens access, for students who have distinguished themselves, to the Research Masters in Health Sciences or other professional Masters.

Emergency and Resuscitation

The graduate in emergency care is authorized to work in hospital or pre-hospital emergency departments (SAMU, SMUR). It must be able to accommodate, 24 hours a day, any patient whose care has not been scheduled, presenting for immediate care, whether it is a real emergency or a urgency felt. The training allows the acquisition of personal qualities and aptitudes, professional and interpersonal skills allowing him to adapt to the high turnover of patients and to the diversity of pathologies received in emergency. It also allows him to be versatile since he will have to perform different functions: reception and sorting of patients, emergency care, particularly life-saving, mobile emergencies (SMUR, SAMU), etc. The emergency care professional quickly and discerningly performs technical care that falls within the "prescribed or collaborating" role and also care that falls within his "own" role. He must develop technical skills, know how to identify real emergencies, react in an appropriate and timely manner, manage one or more patients at the same time as well as their families. He must also have organizational skills, be versatile in the face of the multiplicity of pathologies received: from medical emergencies to surgical emergencies, psychiatric emergencies and intensive care. He must be able to identify relative emergencies and provide appropriate responses, to take care of the patient's family and those accompanying them. He must also master difficult and stress-generating situations (agitation, aggression, violence, cardiac arrest, etc.). Finally, he must have the administrative, medico-legal and organizational knowledge necessary for the performance of his duties. University training in emergency care lasts 3 years leading to the applied license in this discipline.
